Green Impact is an environmental accreditation and awards scheme run by the National Union of Students. The scheme supports teams and departments to make changes in behaviour and policy through an online workbook of criteria from recycling to increasing biodiversity, with a whole range of things in between.
The Lifelong Learning Centre’s Green Impact team are now Gold award winners, having won Bronze and Silver in previous years.
We try to include sustainability in everything we do. For example, we’ve held a Family Tea Party using recycled play resources, encouraged staff and students to walk and cycle the equivalent of travelling across the USA, and taken part in the University’s Big Campus Birdwatch.
We also have a great video of the LLC’s team, and what we’ve been up to, on our Facebook page.
