I love my job. Yes, I am one of the lucky people who gets to say that. I have worked at the LLC for nearly five years and have watched the Centre grow dramatically in that time. I have seen people come and go, new projects started or old ones improved. One thing has not changed however – all of the staff here have the same values and are working towards the same goal, namely that of raising the aspirations of under-represented groups and giving individuals from these sorts of backgrounds a chance of coming to university.
I am therefore pretty chuffed to announce that on May 4th we were awarded the Customer Service Excellence (CSE) award. Not only did we pass the full day assessment with flying colours but we have been given three ‘compliance pluses’ which recognise the work we do with hard-to-reach and under-represented groups. We have been told that it is very rare for this to happen on a first assessment and it feels great to know that what we all stand for and work towards each day is being done not only well, but has been described as an ‘exceptional example’.
Of course we are always looking for ways to improve and have got some really great feedback to work on which will hopefully help us to achieve more ‘compliance pluses’ when we are assessed again next year. For now though it’s good to know we’ve been recognised for being great at what we do. Well done team!
