Green Impact Silver Award
The Lifelong Learning Centre (LLC) takes part in the University wide, Green Impact Award scheme. This scheme is an initiative to encourage schools and departments at the University of Leeds to tackle issues on sustainability. Although the aim is to reduce carbon by 20% by 2020, the Green Impact Award is not just about reducing carbon, it is also about bringing sustainability issues to the fore across departments. Last year the Lifelong Learning Centre earned the University’s Green Impact Bronze award with 3 team members. When I joined the team this year I loved the positive 'we are going for the Silver attitude' of the now 8 strong group. I have enjoyed being part of something that wasn’t restricted to my immediate colleagues and helping the environment in the process.
