Registrations are now open for our fifth annual Spring into Summer programme. This year we have a number of FREE events as well as courses and workshops in creative writing, culture, languages, literature and religion. The programme is being delivered by staff from the Lifelong Learning Centre and elsewhere in the University.
We are particularly pleased to be offering a series of seminars on topical issues such as fracking, payday loans, the ‘New Atheism’ and sustainability. Following on from last year’s successful ‘Women and the First World War’ event we will also be celebrating the life of Edith Cavell.
Did you know that Wednesday 1st July is Canada Day? We will be discussing its significance and exploring Canadian literature with experts from the Leeds Centre for Canadian Studies. There might also be some food!
‘Spring into Summer’ publicity will be distributed widely in libraries, community centres, sports centres, shops, cafes and pubs. We will also be using email, Twitter and Facebook to get the word out. We have done our very best to make our programme as affordable as possible and would really appreciate any help you can give us publicising it, either by taking promotional materials to distribute in your local area or by posting on social media.
