The Lifelong Learning Centre (LLC) has always understood the importance of engaging with local employers. The Business Management team regularly speak to local employers whether it is to discuss work placement opportunities for our full-time students, development of specific courses which the business would like the University to deliver to their employees or simply as an opportunity ensure that the content of our Business Management programmes continues to produce graduates with the skills required by industry.
Last week the entire Business Management team descended on British Gas. This was a planned visit to allow us to speak directly to British Gas employees about our part-time Business Management course. Whilst this was a first visit for Graeme and me, David has previously delivered statistics training to British Gas managers.
As a new visitor to the British Gas building I was very impressed with the layout and the extremely professional and helpful staff. The day was enjoyable, and I particularly appreciated having the chance to talk to a number of employees about the LLC and the programmes we offer.
We discussed the Business Management part-time degree with a number of people, and the feedback was excellent. I really hope that some of these employees take the opportunity to further their careers with this LLC course.
