Entry Requirements
Work experience that would give the applicant an appreciation of a range of different roles and/or work settings and/or management responsibilities. GCSE grades A–C English and Maths or equivalent. Applicants who are unable to demonstrate numeracy skills through a GCSE Maths grade C or equivalent can gain entry onto the course through successfully completing the LLC numeracy assessment and two A Levels grade A-E or equivalent or (for applicants without formal qualifications) successful completion of the University of Leeds Alternative Entry Scheme.
Course Information
The Dip HE combines an excellent grounding in fundamental business management concepts with an emphasis on the development of business management knowledge and skills and your own personal and professional development. It covers topical areas of business and management such as:
- Human Resources and Managing People
- Managing Change
- Project Management
- Managing Finances
- Marketing
- Leadership

How will I be taught?
Classes involve a combination of tutor-led teaching, group work and student activities. Additional resources and activities are available online through the University’s Virtual Learning Environment.
How will I be assessed?
Assessments include academic essays, business reports, case studies, group presentations and examinations. This wide range gives opportunity for students to work to their individual strengths and to gain skills in different forms of expression.
Progression to an Honours Degree
Successful completion of the Dip HE represents the first two thirds of an honours degree. Successful students can progress to a BSc Business Management with just a further two years part-time study.
Career development
The programme will develop your knowledge and skills across a number of areas of business management to enable you to be a more effective with the workplace and to build your capacity for progression to more senior management roles.
