Preparation for Higher Education (PHE) is a one-year foundation course for adults returning to study. It prepares mature students to progress to a range if degrees in social sciences, arts and humanities and healthcare. The course offers a supportive environment to develop the confidence, knowledge and academic skills to make a successful transition to university.

Lunch will be provided at this taster day.

There are also a small number of pre-school childcare places available in the University nursery. Please provide details of your childcare requirements when you register and we will contact you to discuss this. Parents who need to leave early to collect children from school are welcome to do so.

When is the course taught?

Part-time on a Tuesday and Thursday evening, from September to June. Plus one monthly Saturday session.

What have previous PHE students said?

The study skills I gained from PHE really helped to set me up well for my current degree course. I would definitely recommend this course – it basically changed my life.
