Workshops

Enabling learning: how can we best support young learners, including those with SEND?
This interactive session will explore strategies for effectively supporting all learners, including those with SEND. We will discuss the recent changes to SEND legislation and how this impacts on provision in schools. This session will introduce the Foundation Degree in Learning and Teaching and the specialist Foundation Degree in SEND at the University of Leeds, and will be led by Jacqui Ambler who runs the SEND programme.

What is Family Support?
Do families need support in the UK today? Who works with families and what services do they provide? You will have the chance to take part in a lively discussion about policy and practice and find out more about opportunities in this field. The session will be led by Nathan Loynes, programme leader for the Foundation Degree in Child and Family Studies.

What previous participants have said:

Today has given me a much clearer view on whether this is for me and achievable given my circumstances. It has made me realise it is possible if you want to do it.

It put me at ease meeting students studying on the course I want to do. All the tutors were very friendly and happy to help.
