A taste of technology

Do you enjoy learning about computing? Would you like to learn new skills in coding and animation? Are you interested in the social impact of developing technologies? Then come to our free four week course.

What will this include?

Join us for these four friendly and informal sessions for a taste of different aspects of contemporary technology. We will start with a basic introduction to coding. You will learn about the basic principles of coding and learn to write simple commands. We will then go on to explore questions that technology raises in our society and look at how technology impacts on our behaviours. Finally, you will have the opportunity to get creative, using software to produce a video or animation on a subject of your choice.

Who is the course for?

This programme is for anyone who is interested in computers, technology or just learning new skills and ideas. The course will go at your own pace and there will be lots of tutor support. No previous experience or knowledge is necessary, just a willingness to learn and give things a go.

When and where is the course?

Where: New Wortley Community Centre.
When: Thursday 10-12, for four weeks starting 8th June.
