Ebba Brooks

I’ve loved reading and writing for as long as I can remember. I was a journalist for many years before I got sidelined into becoming a spin doctor for various government ministers including Tony Blair and John Prescott. I then took a Masters degree in Creative Writing at Antioch University in Los Angeles, where I specialised in long form fiction and wrote a novel. These days I combine teaching creative writing in a variety of settings (a haberdashers, various libraries and a teashop to name a few) with training staff in communications skills at the University of Salford. I live in Manchester where I founded and direct the Prestwich Book Festival, the newest micro literary festival in the North. My blog Jenny Wren and Bella Wilfer has featured in The Guardian. I am currently working on several long-form fiction projects.

I tweet @ebbabrooks and am an active member of the Blog North network. I hold an undergraduate degree in English from the University of Leeds and am a mum to two small children.
