Volunteering provides an excellent opportunity to enhance your transferable skills and boost your CV; experience does not have to be paid to be valued by prospective employers.
The University’s Volunteering Hub is a great source of voluntary opportunities in the immediate area of the University. If you are looking further afield, try the national website Do-It (you can search by postcode and/or type of opportunity). If you would like to volunteer within the LLC itself, have a look at our volunteering page where you can find out about being a peer mentor, student representative or Learning Champion, all of which can help you develop a range of key transferable skills.
If you would like to volunteer but would struggle financially due to having to forgo paid work, or perhaps need help with childcare or travel, please remember that our Opportunities Fund may be able to help.
