Lifelong Learning Centre

Academic skills support

Welcome to the academic skills support pages. These pages will introduce you to the academic skills support team and the areas of support available to all Lifelong Learning students and part-time and mature undergraduates at Leeds.

While encouraging all students to move towards independence, we can support you to gain confidence in your abilities and to develop strategies to approach your academic work. Our aim is to help you to develop the skills necessary to achieve your academic goals.

For instance, we can offer support with:

  • getting back into your studies after a break
  • time management
  • reading strategies
  • using the library
  • planning assignments
  • writing skills
  • maths support
  • strategies for people with specific learning difficulties awaiting provision by Disabled Students’ Assessment and Support (DSAS)
